Road Bikes vs Gravel Bikes — Which SAVA Suits You?
| Bike Style | Best For |
|---|---|
| SAVA Road Bike | Aggressive geometry for maximum speed on pavement — UCI-certified frames, Shimano Sora/Tiagra/Ultegra groupsets. Ideal for racing, sportives, and fast century rides. |
| SAVA Gravel Bike | Relaxed geometry with wider tire clearance (up to 45mm) — handles unpaved surfaces while maintaining on-road speed. Built for mixed-terrain adventure and bikepacking. |
What to Look for When Buying a SAVA Carbon Bike
The right SAVA comes down to four things: bike style, carbon grade, drivetrain, and intended terrain. Here's a quick breakdown of what each means for your riding:
Bike style
Road for speed-focused pavement riding. Gravel for mixed terrain, adventure routes, and off-road exploration.
Carbon grade
T700 carbon offers excellent lightweight performance at entry level. T800 delivers higher modulus stiffness — the choice for competitive and performance-oriented riders.
Drivetrain
Shimano Sora (9-speed) for beginners and casual riders. Tiagra (10-speed) for enthusiasts. Ultegra (11-speed) for competitive cyclists demanding the best shifting precision.
Brakes
Mechanical disc brakes offer reliable all-condition stopping. Hydraulic disc provides superior modulation and power for technical descents and wet weather riding.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are SAVA bikes?
SAVA bikes are lightweight carbon bicycles designed for road and gravel cycling. Known for T800 carbon frames and UCI-certified geometry, SAVA delivers professional-grade performance at competitive prices — ideal for serious cyclists who want quality without overpaying for brand prestige.
What is T800 carbon and why is it better?
T800 is high-modulus carbon fiber with an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. SAVA frames using T800 are roughly 40% lighter than steel equivalents while maintaining lateral stiffness for efficient power transfer. The same material is used in aerospace engineering — among the most advanced available in cycling.
Are SAVA bikes UCI certified?
Many SAVA models carry UCI certification, confirming they meet International Cycling Union standards for professional racing geometry and safety. UCI certification verifies frame dimensions, material integrity, and compliance with competition rules — a genuine mark of quality assurance.
What's the difference between SAVA road and gravel bikes?
Road bikes use aggressive geometry for maximum speed on pavement. Gravel bikes offer relaxed geometry, wider tire clearance (up to 45mm), and mudguard mounts for all-terrain versatility. Most riders choose road for racing and sportives, gravel for adventure touring and mixed-surface exploration.
Which Shimano groupset should I choose?
Sora (9-speed) is ideal for casual riders and beginners. Tiagra (10-speed) suits enthusiasts seeking better shifting precision at a lower price point than Ultegra. Ultegra (11-speed) delivers professional-grade performance for competitive cyclists logging high annual mileage.
How much do SAVA bikes weigh?
SAVA carbon road bikes typically weigh 15–17 lbs. Gravel models range 17–19 lbs — significantly lighter than aluminum (18–22 lbs) or steel (22–28 lbs) equivalents. The weight advantage translates to measurable efficiency on climbs.
Are SAVA bikes good for beginners?
Yes. Entry-level T700 carbon models offer carbon quality, Shimano reliability, and beginner-friendly geometry. You can start with base components and upgrade the groupset, wheels, or cockpit later as your riding evolves.
How long does a SAVA carbon frame last?
With proper care and no crash damage, 10–20+ years. SAVA backs frames with a 2-year warranty. Carbon resists corrosion and fatigue cracking better than aluminum when maintained correctly. Annual professional inspection is recommended for competitive riders.
Do SAVA bikes come assembled?
All SAVA bikes from Velozzo arrive 85–95% assembled. Remaining steps — attaching pedals, aligning handlebars, and adjusting seat height — take around 15–20 minutes with basic tools. Every order includes hardware and a step-by-step guide. Our support team is available if you need help.
Do you offer free shipping on SAVA bikes?
Yes. Every SAVA bike order ships free to addresses across the continental USA. There is no minimum spend and no hidden delivery fee added at checkout. The price you see is the price you pay.
